BELLINGHAM

Lorenzo Pellecchia, Senior, Boys soccer, Centerback

Personal and team goals this season: My personal goal is to step into more of a leadership role, working to help elevate my teammates. Team goal is to maintain a high standard of play.

Most excited for: We have a lot of young players this year, so a lot of teams are already underestimating us. I am excited to see our players step up and accept the challenge and show that we can play.

Go-to pregame ritual: I like to meet with the team early, catch some of the junior varsity game. Get in a huddle, give everyone a chance to speak and get everyone dialed into the game.


Lowa Gresham, Senior, Girls tennis, Singles

Personal and team goals this season: Be a leader on my team and improve my tennis throughout the season.

Most excited for: Being a part of my team and getting to compete.

Go-to pregame ritual: Eat an apple sauce and stretch.




BLAINE

Axel Puls, Senior, Baseball, Shortstop

Personal and team goals this season: Team goal is to make the state tournament and make a run. Personal goal is to perform my best and help us get there.

Most excited for: Just to be back on the field and doing what I love.

Go-to pregame ritual: Get to the field early and get my body ready to go.


Hope Weeda, Senior, Girls golf

Personal and team goals this season: I would like to have fun this season and get a new personal-best score. As a team we want to lift each other up and hopefully get someone back to state.

Most excited for: I am excited to grow in the sport and learn about mechanics to have my best swing.

Go-to pregame ritual: Stretch really well, hit a couple balls off the range and practice lots of putting.




FERNDALE

Jake Mason, Senior, Baseball, Pitcher/Shortstop

Personal and team goals this season: Personal: Dominate on the mound. Team: Make a playoff run.

Most excited for: Getting to play with my guys for the last time in high school.

Go-to pregame ritual: Meet with Donny [Hennigs] pre-game.


Ellie Ochoa, Senior, Track and field, 200-meter dash/400-meter dash/javelin

Personal and team goals this season: To run my 400-meter [dash] in under 60 seconds.

Most excited for: To see how far I can get with my success, and being pushed to my limits with new coach BJ Hoelzle.

Go-to pregame ritual: Drink lots of water, do a high jump before I get into my blocks.




LYNDEN

Troy Petz, Senior, Track and field, Jumper

Personal and team goals this season: Win state again.

Most excited for: Track meets.

Go-to pregame ritual: Listen to music.


Grace Potter, Senior, Fastpitch softball, Shortstop/Catcher

Personal and team goals this season: Personal: To bat .500-plus. Team: To make it to state.

Most excited for: The group of girls is amazing. I am excited for long trips and team dinners.

Go-to pregame ritual: A Red Bull, music and the sun dance.




LYNDEN CHRISTIAN

Personal and team goals this season: My personal and team goals for this season are to work as a team and compete as best as we can.

Most excited for: Getting to play with my teammates and work with my coaches to play well.

Go-to pregame ritual: My go-to pregame ritual is to listen to music with my team and give my sister a high-five.


Jonny Bouma, Senior, Track and field, Pole vault

Personal and team goals this season: To win state individually and to win it as a team.

Most excited for: The competition.

Go-to pregame ritual: Listen to upbeat band music.




MERIDIAN

Hunter Jones, Senior, Baseball, Pitcher/Second baseman

Personal and team goals this season: Bat .500. Go to state.

Most excited for: Our growth.

Go-to pregame ritual: Get hyped with my team.


Madison Brzozowski, Senior, Girls golf

Personal and team goals this season: My personal goal is to just improve my skills and my team goal is to just have fun and bond with all the girls.

Most excited for: I am most excited about spending time with my sister and traveling with my team.

Go-to pregame ritual: My go-to pregame ritual is to get Starbucks with my sister.




MOUNT BAKER

Brady West, Senior, Baseball, Utility player

Personal and team goals this season: Some personal goals would be becoming a better teammate, and for team goals is to be one of the top 1A teams.

Most excited for: To play and become closer with more of the guys.

Go-to pregame ritual: Pregame ritual would be deep breathing and listening to 2000s hits.


Erica Cook, Junior, Track and field, 400-meter dash/800-meter dash/4x400 relay

Personal and team goals this season: I would love to have numerous PRs as well as make it to state.

Most excited for: Seeing how I have grown as an athlete as well as my team’s improvements.

Go-to pregame ritual: Zoning out to music while I mentally prep and doing calisthenics.




NOOKSACK VALLEY

Drew DeWispelaere, Senior, Baseball, Second baseman

Personal and team goals this season: My personal goals are to level up at the plate, get the bat going. Team goals are to help the young guys gain the confidence we know we have out in the field.

Most excited for: I am most excited to build a tight bond with the whole team and have fun together. We play great when we have fun.

Go-to pregame ritual: I like to get a little bit of hitting in, and listen to some music to get zoned in.


Ella Perry, Fastpitch softball, First baseman

Personal and team goals this season: To make memories and have fun. To show what our program can do for younger athletes.

Most excited for: Being able to play with my fellow seniors, Ryan [Ross] and Sierra [Anderson]. Also making memories that I’ll carry for the rest of my life.

Go-to pregame ritual: I always have a dance party and various snacks. And making sure I have my seeds.




SEHOME

Zack Munson, Senior, Track and field, Distance runner

Personal and team goals this season: Break the state record for the 2-mile and win state as a team.

Most excited for: Competing at the highest level and chasing records.

Go-to pregame ritual: Big pasta dinner the night before a race.


Hannah Hochsprung, Senior, Girls golf

Personal and team goals this season: As a team I think we have a strong shot at placing well at state, and for myself as an individual.

Most excited for: I’m excited that it’s senior season and we are playing in a couple tournaments outside of the league.

Go-to pregame ritual: I typically go to the range and putt for a while and listen to music to get in the zone.




SQUALICUM

Andre Korbmacher, Senior, Track and field, Hurdler/Sprinter

Personal and team goals this season: Back-to-back 4x100 state championships and for Squalicum to come in top three overall. 

Most excited for: Having another opportunity to break records and have a fun, competitive season with my team.

Go-to pregame ritual: I visualize myself winning and listen to music to get me in the zone.


Regan Andersen, Senior, Fastpitch softball, Pitcher

Personal and team goals this season: My personal goal is to have under a 3.0 ERA and my team goal is to have fun and play together.

Most excited for: The competition — I know a lot of players on other teams and am excited to come together as a team.

Go-to pregame ritual: Braiding my hair then eating a smoothie bowl.
